Another month is done and dusted so that means it’s time again for me to write about 5 Happy Things. May was a really busy one. I finally (touch wood on this!) got back to posting regularly on here, I had a trip abroad and lots of interesting things happened blog wise too. So here are a few things from the last month I’ve really enjoyed. A few might even be a preview of posts coming up in the next week or so…
Attending The Latest Spectrum Brushes Launch Party
Spectrum is one of my favourite beauty brands, in fact, I’d easily say they are my absolute favourite makeup brush brand. So when an invite to their Disney’s Little Mermaid launch landed in my inbox I let out an audible squeal of excitement. Their Mean Girls launch was absolutely incredible, so I quickly marked the date in my diary and started planning a glittery outfit for the occasion. I won’t go on too much as I’ve got a post coming up very soon. But it was so much fun. And I was lucky enough to be given one of the new sets to take home. Such a fun evening!
Discovering Kendall Rae’s YouTube Channel
I completely blame my best friend and self-admitted crime nerd Becky for this, but recently I’ve got really into true crime documentaries. So when I was on a bit of a Youtube binge I stumbled upon Kendall Rae’s channel. She does a selection of chatty videos, true crime and conspiracy theory videos. I’ve found everyone I’ve watched so far to be excellent. She manages to be both entertaining and informative and I highly recommend checking her channel out.
Finally Trying A Nando’s Breakfast
Okay, so I know I mentioned this in my 48 hours in Koge post earlier this month, but still. Let’s be honest, I don’t think I’ve been that irrationally excited over breakfast food since last time I went to brunch. (Which reminds me, I really should plan another brunch…). I went for the Veggie Breakfast Roll with grilled halloumi cheese, avocado and tomato. Proper yummy. Next time though, I think I’d pick the pancakes. Variety is the spice of life after all!
Having A 20 Day (& Counting!) Duolingo Streak
Since I enjoyed my trip to Denmark so much (and since I was a little noisier than I want to admit at my nephew’s confirmation when I couldn’t understand one of the speeches.) I decided to download Duolingo and learn a little Danish. Since then it’s become part of my daily routine and I’m slowly seeing an improvement on how much I know. Here’s hoping I might just be able to understand what’s going on in the speeches by my other nephew’s confirmation!
Duty-Free Treats
“Fran, another post relating to your holiday, we get it, you went away…” I know, I know. Sorry about that. I was going to put about my night out with the lovely Leah and Mona. And well, I would have a lot write about but also I have approximately zero photos I think any of us would want to share for the profile shot. So, instead, I’m gonna tell you about the goodies I brought back from Denmark. Beauty-wise I finally picked up the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation and, so far, I’ve loved it and the Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner which, again I’ve been really impressed with. Foodwise, I got a bottle of one of my favourite vodkas and some Pålægschokolade. What is pålægschokolade? Well, it’s Danish toast chocolate and it’s blooming gorgeous. I’m currently rationing it out so I don’t run out too soon…
