Talk the staff at your local beauty counters

When it comes to high end beauty counters, it’s their job to try and drive sales and ideally, create repeat customers. This means that most of the time they want to make sure you’re one hundred percent satisfied with your purchase and will usually demo it on you if they’re not too busy. Chat away with the person at the counter and get their recommendations and if they can, they’ll often give you a few samples of said products. Many brands also will give you a weeks worth of a foundation. After all, you want to make sure it’s right for you!

Online offers and competitions

With cashback tricks, offers and competitions – if you’re looking to anything free WOW FreeStuff is the place to go. It databases any current freebies, so it’s well worth checking out what’s on their site. Along with this, while I’ve not been successful at them (but fingers crossed hey!), there are often bloggers and brands doing giveaways which only require a follow, tweet or like to enter. What’s there to lose huh?!

Save your loyalty points!

My mum and grandma both used to swear by their Boots cards and growing up I always thought it was magic how they’d be able to pay for a selection of gifts over Christmas just by using points they’d earned over the course of the year. Now I don’t always use it for Christmas gifts, I’ve often been known to save them up and have a cheeky splurge on a selection of beauty goodies. Now it’s not just Boots that offer beauty points cards, Superdrug and Debenhams do too. So you’re pretty much covered wherever you like to shop…

Okay, so this isn’t entirely free as they do require a purchase. It’s still a great way to get more bang for your buck. For example, at the minute to celebrate their 10th birthday, if you spend £12 or more one Sleek you’ll receive a free box containing a palette, lipstick and eyeliner which would normally set you back around £15. Not only is it a bargain, I often find it to be a great way to try products I may not have otherwise.
