The UK Blog Awards 2017 || Life Lately

As I mentioned, a few weeks back at the EE Light’s Of SoHo event I won a ticket to the UK Blog Awards. So when Friday the 21st rolled around, I got dressed up and headed over to the Park Plaza Hotel Westminster to celebrate some of the best and brightest bloggers of the past year. As I didn’t know what to expect, I thought I’d take my camera and show you all what I got up to – in case you’re planning on attending (or entering!) next year;

If you’re not sure how the UK Blog Awards work, then don’t worry – I got you. Once the nomination process opens you can enter your blog into the voting. Then it’s up to you to promote it to your friends, family, colleagues and whoever else you want to vote for your blog. Once the Public Vote closes the top 8 individual and company Blogs and Vlogs from each category are put forward to the industry expert judges who will mark them on design, style, content, marketing and usability. Then it’s the exciting wait until the evening of the awards to see who’s won!

The awards have some pretty huge names sponsoring them this year, the main one being ODEON cinemas. Because of this, this years UK Blog Awards was decked out for a superhero theme. They really added some wonderful and well thought out touches such as the comic book style presentation and even down to having gluten free superhero cakepops in each of the goodie bags.

I mean just how cute is my little Captain America one?!

Anyway! The evening began with some time to mingle. The area was split into three, the theatre, the main room and the bar area with cinema screen. In a homage to the superhero theme there was balloon artists dressed as heroes and Wonder Women and King Arthur photo-booths. So plenty to keep you entertained!

After a having a balloon animal made (Squidge the Squid!) and sampling some of the nibbles on offer (including some cinema popcorn), it was time for the awards themselves. Hosted by Chessie King and Jack Saunders, the awards flowed wonderfully. Well done to everyone nominated, (especially those who won!) and thank you to the UK Blog Awards for a fantastic evening.
