The Bombshell Collection – Spectrum Collections || New Launch

Spectrum Brushes Bombshell Collection

Sometimes, I’m really lucky in that my blog gives me the chance to experience some amazing places, experiences and products. On which not, as you may have seen on my Instagram, last month I was thrilled to be invited to preview Spectrum‘s Autumn / Winter collection. The drop dead gorgeous Bombshell collection is made up of 12 pink and rose gold brushes which, much like their Glam Clam, take inspiration from the current mermaid trend. Being a huge mermaid fan, it’s a safe to say I was pretty certain I’d end up buying them sooner rather than later.

To celebrate the launch, Spectrum decked out a pop-up shop in So-Ho ready for a total #mermaidgoals preview party. With Snoochie Shy DJing, Premier Estate Wines providing lots of bubbles and The Unhampered Girls creating the most delicious mermaid themed cakes – they really went all out. Best of all though? After a fantastic evening we were sent home with a bag of treats. Much to my delight, this included four of the new Spectrum Bombshell collection brushes. Meaning we could try before the official release next month..

A little about Spectrum Collections

If you haven’t heard of Spectrum Collections before, I’ll give you the low down. Spectrum was started by sisters Sophie and Hannah a few years back after spotting a niche in the market for a trend driven makeup brush brand. As the market was full to the brim with dull, plainly coloured brushes they thought they’d go to the other end of the spectrum and create a range with bright colours. The gorgeous brushes not only look good, every one is 100% cruelty free and vegan. So you know no animals came to any harm in the making of those beautiful ombre bristles.

The Bombshell Collection

As the name may give away the Bombshell range is, much like previous collections, inspired by mermaids. Also much like previous collections, the quality and feel of the brushes is insane. Normally when something looks this instagram-able, I feel something has to give. However, these are genuinely some of the softest and most luxurious brushes I have ever tried.

Although, it did take me around a week to pluck up the courage to try them. I didn’t want to risk messing up the gorgeous pink bristles or getting product on the shiny rose gold. Thankfully though, they all washed well without any colour run. This means that they can stay just as gorgeous even after continued use!

The 12 piece range consists of six eye and six face brushes, so everything you need to do your makeup like a real mer-babe. From the displays at the preview party, it also seems like they’ll be available in a Glam Clam or holographic silver wrap to keep them clean and tidy. Although the wrap was cute, I feel it’s almost a shame to not display these beauties. Mine currently have pride of place on my dressing table…

These are so pretty! I feel your pain about not wanting to mess them up, they’re almost too pretty to use. But so pleased to hear that they are lovely and soft.

They are seriously beautiful brushes – I love it that brands are catching on that we want our tools to be fashionable (and totally instagrammable!) as well as functional!

Eee they are just the most beautiful brushes I’ve ever seen! I’ve been wanting to buy some Spectrum brushes for ages, but now I think I’m going to have to wait until these ones come out <3
