Columbia Road Flower Market || London

Columbia Road Flower Market
As I mentioned on my London Treats post a few weeks back, Columbia Road Flower Market is one of the only things that can make me want to get up early on a Sunday morning. It is situated in the East End near Brick Lane and Spitalfields and on every Sunday between 8am and 3pm. Although going early is advised if you want to get the pick of the plants and flowers on offer, lots of stalls were almost sold out by around 1pm!

The smells were absolutely divine and I ended up buying a few bunches to brighten up the flat even though I didn’t really need to..

Aside from the old time feel of the market itself, there’s a real retro feel to the street itself. Columbia Road is full to the brim with independent shops, delis and small art galleries, as well as pubs and cafes and restaurants so there’s lots of places to refuel and not a chain in sight. The selection of stores and food outlets are well worth checking out in the week if the hustle and bustle of  the flower market itself isn’t your thing.

Columbia Road Flower Market Although getting to the other end of London first thing in the morning might be a bit of a trek for me, it is well worth the journey and the perfect way to get some fresh air after Saturday night..

Have you been to Columbia Road Market before? What did you think?
